Game Modes Included

• Classic: traditional Snake gameplay.
• Timed: score as much as possible before time runs out.
• No Walls: wrap through the edges of the board.
• Obstacle: avoid blocks while growing your snake.
• Portal: use portals to move across the board.
• Chase: enemy snakes pursue the player with smoother target/scatter arcade behavior.

Powerups & Bonuses

• Cherry Bonus: appears near the center and is worth triple normal apple points.
• Golden Apple: bonus score item.
• Slow Time: temporarily slows the game down.
• Ghost Mode: pass through yourself and chase enemies for a short time.
• Knockout: temporarily stuns chase snakes.
• Shrink: removes tail segments.
• Magnet: pulls food closer.
• 2x Multiplier: boosts bonus scoring.

Chase Mode

Chase Mode adds small enemy snakes that try to reach the player without feeling unfair or robotic. The movement uses target/scatter style behavior inspired by classic arcade enemy patterns, with configurable aggression, mistakes, and turn behavior.

Ghost Mode lets the player pass through chase enemies, while the Knockout powerup temporarily stuns them for a short escape window.

Easy To Customize

The main settings are grouped near the top of the JavaScript file. You can quickly change grid size, speed, scoring, cherry chance, powerup chance, timed mode length, chase enemy behavior, theme options, sound volume, and more.

Optional Background Music

The developer version includes an assets/bgm folder for optional MP3 or OGG background music. The game checks for supported music files safely, so missing music files will not break gameplay.
