The Challenge: Beyond a Basic Website
PowerForge Athletics wasn't looking for a static digital brochure; they needed an operational hub. As a premier All-Star Cheer program in the Hudson Valley focusing on athlete progression and safety, their digital needs were complex. They required a public-facing site to drive evaluations and highlight their USA Cheer and USASF certifications, alongside a robust backend to manage programs, clinics, and tumbling classes.
More critically, they needed an alternative to expensive, fragmented third-party apps like "Band." They wanted a unified, members-only ecosystem where coaches could provide performance feedback, parents could manage accounts via Stripe ACH payments, and athletes could access private schedules and shared, admin-approved photo galleries—all without relying on bloated, off-the-shelf event plugins.
The Solution: A Custom Progressive Web App
To deliver a seamless, app-like experience on mobile devices without the overhead of native app store development, I engineered the PowerForge platform as a custom Progressive Web App (PWA). This allowed the business to have an installable app presence directly from the browser.
I built a completely bespoke event and calendar system from the ground up, avoiding the performance drag of commercial plugins like The Events Calendar. This custom architecture seamlessly integrates their scheduling, clinics, and evaluations. Furthermore, to handle the liability and onboarding requirements of an athletic facility, I developed a secure, custom e-signature agreement system directly into their onboarding flow, completely localized to their exact legal needs.
The Results: Built on Safety, Designed for Growth
The final platform is a sleek, dark-themed powerhouse accented with their signature teal, perfectly matching the high-energy aesthetic of competitive cheer. The credibility strips highlighting their CPR/AED and USA Cheer certifications were strategically baked into the UX across the site to build immediate trust with parents.
By keeping the infrastructure lean, custom, and highly targeted, PowerForge Athletics now possesses a scalable digital asset that manages their day-to-day operations, processes payments securely, and fosters community engagement through their private portal.
