Custom Table Bidding Engine
Bids are stored in a dedicated, indexed custom MySQL table (`wvs_auction_bids`). It utilizes strict `GET_LOCK` protocol to prevent race conditions when multiple users bid at the exact same millisecond.
Live AJAX Polling & Countdowns
Buyers don’t have to refresh the page. The interface silently polls the server, updating the current price, bid history, and live countdown timer instantly without draining server resources.
Automated Winner Checkout
When the timer hits zero, a background cron job closes the auction, creates a pending WooCommerce order for the winner, and triggers the standard WooCommerce invoice email automatically.
Anti-Sniping Protection
Stop last-second bot snipers. If activated, any valid bid placed within the final 60 seconds automatically extends the auction duration by a configurable 2 minutes.
Outbid Email Notifications
Drives intense bidding wars. The system instantly emails the previous highest bidder the moment they are outbid, providing a direct deep-link back to the auction to raise their stake.
“My Account” Dashboard Sync
Injects a native “Auctions” tab into the WooCommerce My Account area. Customers can view active bids, check if they are currently winning, and access “Pay Now” links for closed listings.
